Veteran's Day Parade 2020
Some great pictures from our Veternan’s day parade this year!
Memorial Day Parade
May 25th, 2020 – Life’s Journey Senior Living and Taylorville Skilled Nursing and Rehab worked together to coordinate a parade for Taylorville that was called ” A salute to our Veterans and Healthcare Workers.” The mayor, Bruce Berry, and the Chief of Police, Dwayne Wheeler, not only came out, but provided us with a police escort that included 3 police cars and was led by the Deputy Chief Vince Childers. Congressman Rodney Davis sent a car out also to be in our parade. Matthew Aderman who is the Fire Chief sent out 3 fire trucks to travel behind the police cars with Dunn’s Ambulance Company following the fire engines.
There were several cars from the community and other community agencies that joined. Taylorville Skilled Nursing and Rehab, Taylorville Care Center, Alzheimers Org., Taylorville Estates, Home Instead, Synergy Homecare were among some of the agencies. Land of Lincoln Honor Flight, We love our Veterans float, and Gary Jones VA memorial Truck all joined in. One of Life’s Journey’s family member got in touch with his brother who made sure their car show sent out cars. The media coverage was from TV channels 20 Springfield and WAND Decatur. The Taylorville Breeze also had a reporter cover the parade. It was truly awesome to see how much support we had from the Taylorville community!
